Mike
Speakman, L.I.S.A.C., Anger Education Specialist and
Family
Educator About Addiction
Mike
is an Anger Education Coach and Licensed Substance Abuse
Counselor. He developed the first Anger Management Training Program for the Salvation
Army Adult Rehabilitation Center in Phoenix, Arizona in
1991.
Since
then, Mike has helped a wide range of people with his
innovative Anger Education Programs. He's developed and taught
workshops for counselors in both private and public agencies,
the general public, high-school and college students, and
in the criminal-justice system. Mike is the
developer of ®SMARTS-Training,
a results-oriented Anger Management Program used
in treatment centers across the Country since
1992.
In 2002, Mike published the Healthy Expressions of Anger Workbook, a self-study workbook he also
uses in Anger Coaching
Sessions with individuals and couples. Mike has made
his workbook available for purchase to the
public and to other professionals as
well.
Mike has
an expertise in Family Education About Addiction. He
has a passion for sharing practical knowledge about recovery
with family members of recovering addicts and alcoholics;
knowledge gained from working in the trenches in
treatment centers since 1988. In 2007, Mike founded
the first PAL Group
(Parents of Addicted Loved-ones), an educational self-help
group for parents struggling with addiction problems in their
family.
Mike
is also presently on staff at Calvary Addiction Recovery Center in
