Mike
Speakman, L.I.S.A.C., Family Educator on
Addiction and Anger Education Specialist
Mike
is a Licensed Substance Abuse
Counselor with expertise in Family
Education. His knowledge comes
from working "in the trenches" in various treatment
centers since 1988. In addition to helping the addict and
alcoholic develop a life-long recovery, he has always had a
passion for helping family
members understand addiction so they
can help a loved-one recover. In 1996, he was
named: "Counselor of the Year" by the Arizona
Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse
Counselors.
Mike is presently on staff at Calvary
Center, a Christian 30-day Residential Treatment Program in Phoenix,
AZ. One weekend a month there, he helps facilitate a
Family Week-end
Training about addiction and recovery. Calvary Center
has been serving clients nationwide since 1964 and has earned a

Mike is
also a specialist in Anger
Education. In 1991, he developed
his first Anger Management Training Program for the Salvation Army
Adult Rehabilitation Center in Phoenix, Arizona (a

Since
developing his first Anger Management Training more than
17 years ago, Mike has helped a wide range of people with
his innovative Anger Education Programs. He has developed
and taught classes for the general public, both private and
public agencies, high-school and college students, and the
criminal-justice system. Mike is also the
developer of SMARTS-Training®, a very effective and comprehensive
Anger Management Training Program that has been used in treatment
programs accross the Country since
1992.
In 2002,
Mike went into private practice as the Director of
Speakman Coaching and Consulting and completed "The Healthy Expressions of
Anger Workbook" which is now available for both, the
general public, and For Professionals.
